![]() And rebooting later triggers another OSU crash with partially hidden popup. But now Quicken apparently has disabled that feature for all of us who use scheduled OSU and don’t have regular Internet access during the day. And of course, no clue that popups during what is supposed to be an unattended operation disables scheduled OSU’s.Ĭurrent situation is now Quicken crashes every morning with a warning about the services being disabled on April 30. Absolutely no clue what I was talking about, and the bottom line was no way to disable popups. On a rare day when I was able to call Quicken support, I had to put on my sunglasses because of the Deer in the Headlights. Intuit, the developer of Quicken, also confirms that updating KB4074805 is causing problems with the Quicken software. ![]() Intuit confirms Quicken issues with update KB4074805. The update was withdrawn from Windows Update, WSUS and Microsoft Update Catalog on February 23, 2018. Had to do a hard reset to regain control of the machine. The only fix is to uninstall these updates. Few days ago it left me with a mostly black desktop when Quicken took part of Windows with it when it crashed. It’s a waste of time posting about this at the Quicken support web site, since everyone who complains about it is eventually either ignored or censored. This leaves me with a mostly hidden popup window that can’t be closed or cancelled. For several years Quicken’s occasional popup during scheduled OSU sessions has been hanging Quicken. My early morning One Step Updates (Quicken H&B 2016) are scheduled so I can quickly close down my laptop and leave for work on time with all banking data up-to-date. This is an old problem that just got much worse. ![]()
